The Outpatient Psychiatry Service at Boston Children’s Hospital focuses on younger patients with symptoms of psychosis. Clinicians in this program work with families to help manage symptoms and collaborate with school systems to help children succeed.

 
 

Eligibility

Must be a patient at Boston Children's Hospital.
Age: Consultations are available for individuals from birth-18 years old. Treatment is focused on individuals 13 years old or younger.
Diagnosis: Clinical and genetic risk for psychosis.

Primary Care: Clients must be receiving primary care or other services at Boston Children’s Hospital to begin treatment.

  • Psychiatric Assessment

  • Neurological Assessments

  • Neuropsychological testing

  • Genetic studies

  • Case review with an interdisciplinary team

  • Psychopharmacological evaluation consultations

  • Caregiver support

  • Family-based therapy

  • Social skills training

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for youth

  • School placement review and recommendations

  • Collaboration with home-based treatment teams

  • Consultation with community-based providers
