Caseworker - RISE

Seeking a half-time Caseworker for a First-Episode Early Psychosis Treatment Program.
This program is part of the Massachusetts Early Psychosis Network and is guided by the NAVIGATE model for Coordinated Specialty Care. Position is based at 2 CHA locations, Cambridge and Malden, to serve a large catchment area that includes Cambridge, Somerville, Malden, Everett, and Boston’s Metro North Region.
The Caseworker will provide coordinated care for patients, aiding patients and their families with finding resources in the community, connecting patients with treatment resources, and providing education to patients and families as needed.

Child and Adolescent Attending Psychiatrist

The Edinburg Center is seeking a clinician responsible for providing individual counseling and team services for young people who are eligible for first-episode psychosis (FEP) Services. The FEP Clinician must be an experienced Master’s level, licensed preferred clinician with a demonstrated commitment to recovery-oriented services and shared decision making. They must have strong communication, program development and management skills. Valid driver’s license required. Must possess First Aid, CPR, and MAP certification.
Clinician (Early Psychosis Intervention, Research Recruitment, Community Engagement)

We are seeking applicants for a .50 FTE Masters’ Level clinician position to begin as soon as possible. This is a remote position with flexible hours. There is a required weekly meeting on Tuesdays 10-11 AM. Otherwise, flexible availability in afternoons and evenings is a plus.
This clinician will work as a member of the Response to Risk Research Program (https://www.responsetorisk.org/) of the Psychosis Research Program (PRP) of BIDMC, on a study focused on youth at clinical high risk for psychosis (CHR-P). The clinician will work primarily on the following three studies:
Youth Mental Health Data Repository - This study aims to determine eligibility for our other studies, as well as to provide diagnostic clarity for youth who are looking to be assessed for (CHR) for psychosis. The clinician will help manage recruitment.
InVEST- This is an NIMH-funded study examining the development and pilot evaluation of an intervention focused on supporting school functioning for youth ages 12-18 who are showing signs of clinical high risk for developing psychosis (InVEST – Individualized Vocational and Educational Support and Training – see a recent publication describing this program here).
UPLIFT – This is a multisite confirmatory efficacy trial of Family Focused Treatment, led by Drs. David Miklowitz and Carrie Bearden of University of California, Los Angeles and including seven centers across the US and Canada that were a part of the North American Prodrome Longitudinal Study (see here for more information about this study: https://uplift.semel.ucla.edu/ ) . The current study follows up on findings from a previous collaborative study (see here for paper describing this program and findings) and investigates mechanisms of change involved in this intervention.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Psychiatry, Psychosis Clinical and Research Program invites child and adolescent psychiatrist applicants for a part-time position in the clinical high-risk for psychosis program, Resilience Evaluation-Social Emotional Training (RE-SET). The psychiatrist position would involve evaluating and treating patients (including children and adolescents from ages 10-17 and adults ages 18+) with concerns for attenuated or early psychosis. The psychiatrist would be Co-Medical Director of the RE-SET program in collaboration with the RE-SET clinical director (psychologist) and current Medical Director. Additional FTE in the First Episode and Early Psychosis Program (FEPP) treating individuals early in the course of a non-affective psychotic disorder is available if desired. The position is to begin in between January 2024 to July 2024, pending credentialing and insurance empanelment.

Per Diem Clinical Interviewer in Early Psychosis Research

We are seeking applicants for a Per Diem Masters’ Level clinician. Hours are flexible, expected to fluctuate from 8-20 hours per week (most hours are able to be set by the interviewer M-F 9am-5pm EST other than a required Tuesday 10-11 AM meeting, however once they are trained there will be room for interviewers to choose if they would like would like to add availability after 5pm on weekdays or weekends). This clinician will provide structured clinical interviews (SIPS, PSYCHS and SCID) for studies in our Response to Risk clinical high risk for psychosis (CHR-P) research program. Although the candidate must live in MA and may occasionally need to attend in-person meetings or assessments, most of the position will be remote.
The candidate who fills this position will work primarily on four NIMH studies focused on early identification and treatment of youth at clinical high risk for psychosis. Duties will involve conducting comprehensive assessments including the Structured Interview for Psychosis Risk Syndromes (SIPS) and the Structured Clinical Interview for the DSM (SCID), writing up summary vignettes, participating in diagnostic consensus meetings, and sharing feedback and recommendations with patients, families and referring providers.

We are seeking an experienced and empathic Family Partner to join our team at the Massachusetts Psychosis Access and Triage Hub (M-PATH) program at the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful system change and improvement of the experiences of families and individuals facing mental health challenges. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Family Partner applies lived experience as a parent/caregiver of a child or youth with significant mental health needs to coach and assist parents/caregivers in understanding the experiences of their loved one and developing the skills needed to best support them in seeking care. The Family Partner also participates in trainings and outreach presentations in the community by sharing their story with audiences and answering questions about their experiences. The Family Partner may also coach and assist community-based providers on identifying and navigating service systems for youth and families, as well as providing a family member’s perspective on mental health treatment.

The Coordinated Specialty Care - First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Team at BAMSI serves youth in the Brockton community who are experiencing a first-time psychotic episode or who may be at risk of later developing a psychotic episode by providing them comprehensive, community-based wraparound services. As a team, we walk alongside the youth and family towards a path of holistic wellness and thriving. Our model is to first provide early intervention through human, relational engagement. Using a culturally aware, recovery oriented and strengths-based approach, we respectfully collaborate to destigmatize mental illness and instill hope for a successful recovery. This will encompass uniquely tailored services according to the identified needs of the youth and family based on the clinical assessment. Through shared decision making, an evidenced-based treatment plan is developed.
