Early Psychosis within the Veteran Population

Amy Wilson and Rachelle Calixte, who work in the STEER Program at the Bedford VA. Please read their biographies (below) for more information about what they do.

Amy Wilson, Ph.D.

Dr. Wilson is Bedford VAMC’s Local Recovery Coordinator. In that capacity, she is a champion for the recovery model and evidence-based practices for individuals with psychosis. Dr. Wilson is also the program manager for the STEER program (Specialized Team for Early Engagement and Recovery), which is one of the first Coordinated Specialty Care programs in VA. She is also the co-chair of Bedford’s Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery post-graduate fellowship.

 

Rachelle Calixte, PhD

Rachelle Calixte received a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from American University in 2017. She completed her pre-doctoral internship through the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services at Connecticut Valley Hospital. She completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Psychosocial Rehabilitation at the Bedford VA 2017-2018. She currently works in the Department of Psychology at the Bedford VA. She values providing recovery-oriented, resiliency-focused services through a Coordinated Specialty Care model, which is reflected in her work in the STEER program, Supported Employment and Education, Peer Services, and Suicide Prevention.
